The Week of September 28th at Lupine Lane


Hello Everyone! A couple of notes before the lessons. First, this week, there will be different lessons at different locations due to the day the 1st of the month falls. I will note that in the lessons. Second, our class times at the Lakeway Activity Center are changing this week. Check out our calendar for up-to-date times. In October, we'll focus on France. And, we'll also focus a bit on Halloween.


Lil' Absolutely Art and Absolutely Art
At Clay Madsen, we'll finish up our Caribbean month by staining a wooden frame and decorating it with dulled sea glass. We'll also create a tropical fish.
In Lakeway, we'll begin our month of France and Halloween. We'll be creating a stained glass look on a vase and creating a tissue paper flower. Then, we'll learn a bit about Monet and paint a water lilly landscape similar to his famous work.


Lil' Kinder Cooks and Kinder Cooks
At Clay Madsen, we'll finish up our Caribbean month by making some delicious jerk chicken and kabobs and making Jamaican Rice and Peas.
In Lakeway, we'll begin our month of France and make Chicken Cordon Bleu and Green Bean Almondine.


Lil' Music Makers and Music Makers
At Clay Madsen, we'll finish up our month of reggae and calypso music and learn a new calypso beat.
In Lakeway, we'll begin our month filled with French songs.


The After School Supper Club
We'll begin our month of French Dinners! We'll make Chicken Cordon Bleu, Green Bean Almondine and Potatoes Au Gratin!

The Week of September 21st at Lupine Lane



Hello everyone!


Lil' Absolutely Art and Absolutely Art
We'll be learning about the batik method that originated in Africa and is used often on Caribbean fabrics. We'll be using the batik method to make our very own Caribbean canvas bags!


Lil' Kinder Cooks and Kinder Cooks
We'll be making Cuban beef and Caribbean style vegetables and sweet potatoes!


Lil' Music Makers and Music Makers
We'll be introducing the sixteenth note with a new song called Bear Hunt! Then, we'll also introduce the half note while we take a look at Old Mac Donald had a Band!


The After School Supper Club
We'll be making Cuban beef and Caribbean style vegetables and sweet potatoes!

The Week of September 14th at Lupine Lane


Hello All! This week, we'll continue our Caribbean Theme!


The BRAND NEW Family and Friends Playtime starts this week at Clay Madsen! We're so excited about the Plasma Cars, Puppet Theatre, Kiddie Roller Coaster, Slide and more!


Lil' Absolutely Art and Absolutely Art
We'll learn a bit about the importance and traditions of masks in the Caribbean. Then, we'll learn to paper mache as we make our very own tribal mask!


Lil' Kinder Cooks and Kinder Cooks
We'll be making Panko breaded Tilapia with Mango salsa. We'll also make Caribbean Herb Mashed Potatoes!


Lil' Music Makers and Music Makers
We'll be working on the names of notes and creating rhythms with those notes. Then, the kids will arrange the notes into rhythm patterns for the rest of the class to play the Copy Cat Rhythm game. We'll also learn about Calypso beats and learn a new Reggae song!


Fun With Photogrpahy
We'll be create a self portrait and learn how to super impose ourselves into a beach scene!


The After School Supper Club
We'll be making Panko breaded Tilapia with Mango salsa, along with Caribbean Herb Mashed Potatoes and Sauteed Spinach!

The Week of September 7th at Lupine Lane


Hello Everyone! Before our lessons, I have a couple of quick notes.


First, please check out the BRAND NEW Lupine Lane Website! The new site is much more comprehensive of all that Lupine Lane does.


Lupine Lane begins classes at our new location, Steiner Ranch's Bella Mar Community Center this Friday! We are very excited to be a part of the community!


We also begin a new season at Clay Madsen this week! Family and Friends Playtime is back beginning next week with lots of new toys including Plasma Cars, a Kiddie Roller Coaster, a Puppet Theatre and more! In addition, we are offering both Mommy and Me and Drop Off Classes during the day on Mondays and Wednesdays for little ones who are not yet in school. Then, for those that are in school, there is the brand new After School Supper Club on Wednesdays at Clay Madsen where kids make an entire dinner for 4 to bring home! (We are also offering this on Thursdays at Lakeway.)


This week, we're beginning a series of months using various cultures to inspire our lessons. We'll be using the Caribbean to inspire our lessons during September!


Lil' Absolutely Art and Absolutely Art
We'll be creating our own tropical fish! We'll look at photographs of fish living in the Caribbean Sea and use colorful papers and other materials to create a fish of our own! In addition, we'll also make tropical seashell and sea glass frames!


Lil' Kinder Cooks and Kinder Cooks
We'll be learning about the origins of Jamaica's Jerk Spices and create delicious Jerk Chicken and Vegetable Kabobs!


Lil' Music Makers and Music Makers
We'll be introducing Caribbean beats, including calypso and reggae. We'll be adding a new song every week from the Caribbean!


Fun With Photography
We'll learn about enhancing the colors of a photo to create a vibrant Caribbean scene!


The After School Supper Club
Like Kinder Cooks we'll be learning about the origins of Jamaica's Jerk Spices and create delicious Jerk Chicken and Vegetable Kabobs! We'll also be making a Jamaican staple, Rice and Peas! (in this case, "peas" aren't peas as we know them, but rather, Jamaicans call Kidney Beans peas!)
